by George Whitman Pollard

George Whitman Pollard, former World War II combat artist and nationally known portrait painter, created the original of this drawing when inspired by the Biblical quote from Isaiah 41:10: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee. . ."

The young sailor on watch amidst the angry waves fearfully peers into the unknown as Christ appears and places His calming hand upon the sailor's shoulder, pointing the way to safe haven ahead.
